A Gretchin Mob—often referred to as Grots—is a cowardly, horde-style unit of smaller greenskins in Warhammer 40,000 who are forced onto the front lines as human shields, minefield clearers, objective-capturing scavengers, and distracting cannon fodder. Because Gretchin are weak, fragile, and naturally prone to fleeing when under fire, they are accompanied and kept in line by a Runtherd—a larger Ork Oddboy taskmaster who relies on sheer intimidation, squig-hounds, and heavy grabbing or prodding sticks to forcibly shepherd them into battle. Equipped mostly with crude, scavenged small-arms like Grot Blastas, the mob compensates for its poor individual combat ability through sheer numbers, making them invaluable to an Ork army for holding ground and gathering scrap while larger Ork warriors push forward.
