The Drukhari Talos Pain Engine and Cronos Parasite Engine are grotesque, self-propelled torture constructs used by the Dark Eldar (Drukhari) for war and the harvesting of psychic energy or pain. The Talos is a heavier, more overtly aggressive machine, essentially a disturbing fusion of machine and mangled flesh, typically armed with a variety of close-combat and ranged weaponry, serving as a frontline shock unit that revels in inflicting and absorbing damage. The Cronos, however, is a more sinister, specialist support unit, designed to drain the psychic life force and essence from its victims using long, needle-like weapons and psychic projectors, feeding the dark spiritual hunger of the Drukhari and strengthening their nearby allies with the stolen energy.
