The Mechanicum Vultarax Stratos-Automata is a sinister, multi-role aerial war engine that served as a keystone of the Taghmata’s Explorator forces during the Horus Heresy, prized for its ability to operate in the most hostile environments. This robust, hovering automaton is characterized by its eerie, segmented carapace and bladed turbine thrusters, often trailing a tangle of sensory-rich mechadendrites and feelers that allow it to act as both a high-mobility scout and a lethal hunter-killer. To fulfill its role, it is heavily armed with a hull-mounted Vultarax arc blaster—capable of crippling enemy vehicles with haywire pulses—and twin Setheno pattern havoc launchers for raining explosive devastation upon infantry. Protected by thick armor and an advanced flare shield, and governed by a sophisticated Cybernetica Cortex, the Vultarax is a relentless pursuit unit whose design is whispered to be the ancient precursor to the horrific Blight Drones of later millennia.
