The Contemptor Dreadnought is a towering, heavily armored cybernetic combat walker that represents the pinnacle of Imperial military technology during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy eras. Combining a sophisticated, living pilot—a mortally wounded Space Marine hero interred within its life-support sarcophagus—with an advanced atomantic arc reactor, the Contemptor boasts superior speed, strength, and defensive energy shielding compared to standard Dreadnought chassis. It is exceptionally versatile in its armaments, capable of loading out with a devastating array of ranged weapons—such as twin-linked heavy bolters, lascannons, multi-melta, plasma cannons, kheres-pattern assault cannons, or Volkite dual-culverins—alongside devastating close-combat options like the Dreadnought power fist or chainfist, often integrated with built-in combi-weapons, heavy flamers, or plasma blasters, and optionally topped with a hull-mounted havoc launcher to rain explosives on infantry.
