The Sentinel Guard are an elite defensive tactical formation within the Legio Custodes, specifically trained to function as a mobile bulwark tasked with protecting High Command emissaries, VIPs, and crucial strategic choke points on the battlefield. Unlike the typically individualistic fighting style of standard Custodians, members of the Sentinel Guard operate with exceptional synchronicity, forming impenetrable phalanx formations that interlock massive defensive Praesidium Shields to absorb devastating fire. Despite their primary role as a defensive line, they remain formidable offensive combatants who strike back in close quarters using power-field-infused Sentinel Blades—wielded effortlessly in one hand alongside their heavy shields—to cut down any foe bold enough to challenge the Emperor's elite praetorians.
