The Adeptus Custodes Custodian Dreadnought—most prominently embodied by the revered Contemptor-Galatus and Contemptor-Achillus variants—is a towering, golden walker housing the still-living remains of an elite Emperor's Custodian who has suffered mortal wounds in battle. Far exceeding standard Space Marine Dreadnoughts in both martial prowess and craftsmanship, these ancient warmachines are forged from precious auramite and master-crafted archeotech, preserving the warrior's unmatched combat skill and decades or centuries of combat experience. Sealed within armored sarcophagi linked directly to neural interfaces, these fallen heroes wield formidable weapons such as warblades, towering praesidium shields, and dread-spears, striding onto the battlefield as nearly impervious, artfully crafted monuments of the Emperor's divine wrath.
