Cadian Shock Troops are the quintessential backbone of the Astra Militarum, renowned across the galaxy for their discipline, marksmanship, and "hold the line" mentality even after the destruction of their home world. Each squad is a versatile infantry unit typically led by a Sergeant and equipped with standard-issue M36 Kantrael pattern lasguns, bayonets, and flak armor designed for maximum survivability in grueling warzones. These soldiers are trained from birth in the art of war, making them experts at combined arms tactics and capable of deploying specialized weaponry—such as vox-casters for battlefield communication or heavy special weapons like plasma guns and meltaguns—to shatter enemy formations. Their grit is famously summarized by the defiant cry "Cadia Stands," a testament to their role as the relentless first line of defense against the horrors of the 41st Millennium.
