The Space Marine Ancient in Terminator Armour is one of the most distinguished veterans of a Chapter's First Company, specifically chosen for the sacred and highly visible duty of bearing the Astartes Banner—a massive, consecrated standard that flies high above the swirling chaos of the battlefield. Clad in the revered Tactical Dreadnought Armour, this resilient standard-bearer acts as a beacon of unwavering faith and courage for his Battle-Brothers, often reinforcing a unit of Terminators or other elite troops and inspiring them to fight with renewed ferocity, particularly when they suffer casualties. More than a simple flag-carrier, the Terminator Ancient is a powerful character who can wield heavy close-combat or ranged weaponry, combining unshakeable fortitude with inspiring leadership to ensure the Chapter's honor and objectives are maintained at all costs.
